Description |
Blue and gold silk brocade wedding dress. Silk brocade has a repeating floral motif with blue flowers, gold leaves, and gold ribbon. The bodice of the dress fastens down the center front with brass hooks and eyes, with decorative blue silk buttons along the center front opening. The bodice is lined with tan polished cotton, and has twelve rows of boning. Bust enhancers made of cream polished cotton are stitched to the lining of the bodice along the center front opening. A faux capelet is stitched to the bodice at the waist of the center front opening and extends over the shoulders and is tacked in place at the center back waistline. The bodice has three tiered pagoda sleeves, and both the faux capelet and the tiered sleeves are trimmed with blue silk fringe. The skirt of the dress is constructed from several panels and is gathered and stitched along the waistline of the bodice, and fastens in the center front with a brass hook and eye. The bottom 17" of the skirt is lined with tan polished cotton and the hem is finished with 3/8" tan horsehair braid. The dress is constructed with a combination of both hand and machine stitching. |
