Description |
Landscape dominated by several mountains. The mountains on either side of the painting are depicted only in half. Another mountain peaks out from the other two. A river flows to the side of one of the mountains. The mountain on the left is grassy except for the peak which is white. Everything is painted with a hazy overcast. The sky is gray with a sliver of blue sky at the very tops of the mountain in the background. Signed "Harvey Joiner" in lower right corner. Gilded frame with two plaques: "Harvey Joiner" and "Western Scene with Mountains, Harvey Joiner, Gift of Gertrude Christman Melvin". |
