Description |
Rectangular cabinet card frame. The frame has a 3.25x2" window with a gold painted beveled edge. The window is surrounded by a tortoiseshell inset design done in a geometric pattern. The rest of the frame around the tortoiseshell detailing is made of white glass. The glass frame is held in place by layers of thin cardboard and pasted together with textured black paper wrapped around the back and adhered to the edge of the front of the frame. On the top back of the frame there is a small metal loop attached to the cardboard with a length of yarn or twill tape. The bottom half of the back of the frame is papered over with the pages of a book or newspaper. There is some illegible writing in the center back of the frame on the gray cardboard. Glued into the frame is a small photograph depicting a woman carrying a basket on her head while out in a field. |
