Description |
(A) Cotton/denim navy blue bag with ties and straps with buckles. On the front flap is a sewn-on cream color square with a red color Red Cross symbol. On each side of the bag is a loose strap/tie to secure the bag to the body. On the right side tie is a sewn-on cream color label with "American Red Cross" and "chapter" in red, a red color Red Cross symbol, and "Louisville, Ky." typed onto the label. There are three loose straps attached to the front flap of the bag, which can be buckled into three straps/buckles on the bottom of the bag. The inside of the bag contains 11 cloth compartments of varying sizes. (B-C) 2 muslin cream color bandages, folded (D) Duffel bag made of satin or synthetic fiber such as nylon or rayon. Navy blue on the outside with tan trim on each side and "Bundles for Britain" printed on the front in tan lettering. Zipper closure with two beaded pulls attached to the slider. Inside of bag is red; fabric encloses a cardboard-reinforced bottom. (E) Paper gray color booklet, with staples on spine. On front is printed in black, "First Aid in Outline" and "Johnson & Johnson / New Brunswick, N.J. / Chicago, Ill." Booklet includes 76 pages of first aid instructions and images. (F) Pencil with cap and metal end (G) Purple pencil (H) Bundle of cream color tags and attached strings. (I) Tan color paper open envelope with 1 sealed envelope of sterile bandages and 6 individually packaged waterproof sterilized band-aids. (J-K) 2 square paper packages holding Johnson and Johnson waterproof band-aids. (L) Brown cardboard package holding 2 in. bandage compress 2 per package. Outside of all brown cardboard packages identifies the contents, says "Distributed by The American National Red Cross," and gives instructions and images on how to use. (M) Brown cardboard package holding 3 in. bandage compress 2 per package (N) Brown cardboard package holding 4 in. bandage compress (O) Brown cardboard package holding plain absorbent gauze 1 square yard (P) Brown cardboard package holding ammonia ampoules 4 per package (Q) Brown cardboard package holding drinking cups 4 per package (R) Brown cardboard package holding 1 in. adhesive compress 16 per package (S) Brown cardboard package holding burn treatment 2 tubes per package. (T-V) 3 square blue color paper boxes. On top of each one reads "Red Cross Bandage / 1 inch / 10 yards" with the Red Cross symbol. Sides of box read "sterilized / neat edge / Johnson and Johnson" with other information. (W) 1 rectangular blue color box. On top reads, "Red Cross cotton / 1/2 ounce / Johnson and Johnson / sterilized after packaging / absorbent" with 2 Red Cross symbols. Sides of package include other information. (X) 1 rectangular blue color box, with one side flap open. On top reads, "1 yard Red Cross gauze sterilized / Johnson and Johnson" with Red Cross symbol. Sides of package include other information. Inside contains gauze wrapped in tissue paper. (Y) Metal yellow/orange color, cylinder shaped canister. On front reads, "Red Cross Waterproof Adhesive Plaster / 1 in. / 2 1/2 yards / Johnson and Johnson," with Red Cross symbol. Top, back, and bottom of canister contain other information. (Z) Silver metal scissors, decorative imprint on handle (AA) Silver metal scissors, plain handle (AB) Glass bottle, empty with black cap (AC) Glass bottle, black cap filled with about 10 q-tips with black screw on top (AD) Glass bottle, black cap and a paper label reading, "Mild Tincture Iodine, U.S.P /10 cc. / Applicator Vial," with other information. Bottle of iodine is almost empty and dried up. (AE) Glass bottle with stopper and a blue paper label reading, "Mercuro Chrome / H.W.&D. / First Aid Antiseptic / Does not Irritate or Burn," with other information. Bottle is full of liquid. (AF) Glass bottle, black cap and paper label reading, "1/2 fluid ounce Aromatic Spirits of Ammonia / U.S.P. / Johnson and Johnson," with other information. Bottle is full of liquid. |
