Description |
A)Start Glass Co. wax-sealer fruit or canning jar made in New Albany Indiana c. 1880. Green glass with bubble marks. The jar as two raised lips at the top, which would have permitted a tight seal to fit over. The words "Star Glass Co. New Albany, IND" are stamped into one side of the glass. The glass has two side seams, indicating it was made in a mold. Appears to be the number 41 in the bottom of the jar. Base of jar is 3.75" in diameter and the diameter of mouth is 3". B) Lid made of thin tin that has two raised circular rims. 2.5' in diameter |
