The collection consists of 9 folders of photographs taken by various photographers from the 1930s-1980s relating to David R. Bass, documenting Bass's business the Louisville Wholesale Liquor Company and Bass's involvement in the Kosair Temple and Kosair Charities in Louisville, Ky. Folder 1 contains photographs of David Bass (1904-1994) and his wife Yetta (Rosenthal) Bass; the Louis D. Rosenthal Liquor Store; the delivery trucks and facilities of Louisville Wholesale Liquor Company at different locations; and some of the African American employees of the company, including one of Curtis E. Harris who became superintendent of the warehouse and shipping departments in 1965. There are photographs possibly of a Louisville Wholesale Liquor Co. staff party, ca. 1960s-early 1970s. Folders 2-7 are arranged chronologically and consist of photographs of meetings, dinners, and promotional events involving the Louisville Wholesale Liquor Co., Glenmore Distilleries Co., and other members of the liquor industry. Some of the events featured are a 1935 Glenmore Kentucky distributors banquet [fld. 2]; a 1942 Calvert Reserve meeting at Chicago's Palmer House [fld. 2]; a 1945 trip to Yellowstone Distillery [fld. 3]; a 1946 dinner at the Kentucky Hotel [fld. 3]; a 1947 Old Thompson Wed in the Wood sales meeting [fld. 3]; a 1949 meeting of the Women's Association of Allied Beverage Industries at the Seelbach Hotel [fld. 3]; a 1949 Alpha Zeta Omega convention with representatives from Stern, Model, and Pookman drug stores [fld. 3]; a 1951 farewell party in honor of "Miss Ida Rosenthal" [fld. 3]; a 1957 display at Koby's Drugs for Ray Deateale's Kentucky Tavern month [fld. 5]; and a 1957 Gallo Thunderbird wine dinner at Hillbrook Tavern [fld. 5]. Photographers stamped on the back of some of the photographs are Gus Frank, Sam Hinerfeld, and Rollie C. Walling. Folder 8 contains photographs from 1948-1989 of David and Yetta Bass, members and events of the Kosair Temple of the Shriners, and fundraising events for Kosair Crippled Children Hospital. Also of note are photographs of Col. Harland Sanders from a Kosair trip to Washington, D.C. in 1971. Folder 9 consists of miscellaneous photographs, including the following: Betty (Bass) Wolff at Sunday school and at a "Mock wedding at schule" at Adath Israel, 1937-1938; a T.A.G. outing, 1947; Kentucky colonel presentations to individuals associated with Meiers Wine Cellars in 1955 and 1971; Bass with other retiring members of the Jefferson County Selective Service board in 1971; Bass at a 1972 Louisville Male High School reunion; and Bass receiving a distinguished citizen award from Mayor Jerry Bronger in 1974. Individuals pictured in the collection include David Bass with Alvin Gould [fld. 2]; Bass with Wilber "Bud" Fisher [flds. 3-4]; Yetta Bass [flds. 1, 8-9]; George McHugh [flds. 5, 8-9]; Bill Payne [flds. 5-6]; Myles Davidson [fld. 7]; Francis Wolff [fld. 7]; and Anna Quinn [fld. 8].
