Identified individuals from the Major family include: Samuel Ira Monger Major, 1830-1886, who was the editor of the Kentucky Yeoman (004PC24.4, .29, .31; 004PC24.1, .7); his wife, Mary Brown Scott Major, 1839-1885 (004PC24. 17, .46, .57); their children Samuel Ira Monger Major, Jr. (004PC24. 5-7, 38; 004PC23.9), Robert Scott Major (004PC24.20), Mary Elizabeth (Bessie) Major (004PC24.49)and a funeral photograph of their toddler, Kate Major (004PC24.10); a vista view from the Major family home, Highland, in Frankfort (004PC24.41); Grace and Jack Major (004PC24.24); and Judge P.U.
