Description |
Small group of photographs depicting the Fust family of Louisville, Ky. These come from a mixed collection of manuscripts and photographs of the Fust-Trautwein-Kaltenbacher-Strohmeier family. The manuscripts relate to the each families emigration experiences, but the photographs mainly feature the Fusts. These allied German families emigrated to America in the 19th century and settled in Louisville. Elise Fust is the daughter of Charles Fust, and she married into the Trautwein family. 022PC2.03: Framed photograph of the Fust Family. Print on the back of the frame claims that in the front row, from left to right are Elise Fust Trautwein, Caroline Fust von Behren, Katherine ("Aunt Katie") Fust Bolman. The print also states that in the back row, left to right is a cousin (name unknown), John Fust, Mary Fust, and Charles H. Fust, Jr. The label further states that "the photograph was in the Charles Fust family until October 1986, when it was given to Edward Strohmeier, grand-son of Elise Fust, by Irma Fust, daughter of Charles Fust, Jr." For the two loose photographs also in this collection, see 022PC2. |
