Description |
Unidentified workers with large stacks of twist tobacco which have been loaded onto wooden boards. Each twist maker had a number on the cart so they would know whose twists were whose. The workers got paid by the weight of twists completed rather than by the hour. Crates labeled "Allen County Twist" and "Railroad Twist" are stacked throughout the room. A large sliding metal door is in the background. In addition to advertisements for Ryan-Hampton Railroad Twists, an advertisement for a baseball game in Butchertown and a woman's portrait can be seen. |
