Library fireplace and mantel on the first floor of the Edwin Hite Ferguson Mansion. The mantel features a bronze bas relief by American Sculptor Julia Bracken Wendt (1870-1942.) The inscription on the mantel reads, "NATURE WE LOVE AND NEXT TO NATURE ART - WE WARM BOTH HANDS BEFORE THE FIRE OF LIFE" [No Album Page Number. The original address was 1410 South Third Street.] |
